Which are the Best Feasts to Visit?
Without a doubt one of the most popular is Santa Marija (15th August). We suggest you visit Mosta, Mqabba, Qrendi or Rabat. For passion and "extravagance", don't miss Hamrun (San Gejtanu). Other massive feasts include Żurrieq and St. George/Sebastian in Qormi.
Best for Fireworks?
Go to Birżebbuga on a Saturday evening for ground fireworks. Lija (6th August) and Mqabba (15th August) are legendary for their aerial displays.
4 Essential Tips Before You Go
- Traffic & Parking: Main roads close early. Traffic is not permitted. If you drive, don't leave late, but buses are highly recommended.
- Safety: Pick-pocketing risk increases in crowds. Strap your cameras and keep valuables safe.
- Morning Fireworks: If your hotel is nearby, expect to hear fireworks from early morning!
- Distance: Keep a safe distance from pyrotechnic launch zones, usually located on the village outskirts.
Common Questions
The best way is by bus as you will have no hassle to find parking. If you use a car, arrive very early.
