About the Event
The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra presents its Conducting Masterclass 2026, led by Principal Guest Conductor Sergey Smbatyan. Designed for emerging professional conductors and advanced students, this five-day programme offers hands-on experience with a full orchestra, combining podium time, mentorship and detailed exploration of core repertoire. Participants will work closely with the orchestra while developing their own artistic approach in a professional setting. The programme concludes with a public concert at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, giving selected participants the opportunity to lead a live performance.
