FREDU L-FRA

Fredu l-Fra takes place on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November 2026 at the theatre of G.F. Abela Junior College in Msida.

Presented by PassWaraPass, this Maltese theatre comedy takes audiences to the quiet village of Ħal Ħemda, where very little usually happens. But when something does happen, the whole village finds out.

Looking for a Maltese comedy theatre show in Malta this autumn? Fredu l-Fra brings a story full of comic situations, surprises and familiar village characters to the stage.

The story follows Fredu, a quiet young man who shocks everyone with one unexpected decision: he wants to become a friar. His sister Ġuża struggles with the thought of an empty home, while Lucy, who has always looked at Fredu differently, is determined to change his mind.

Meanwhile, at the convent of Ħal Ħemda, the news is welcomed with excitement. Patri Piet is already dreaming of Michelin-level meals, Patri Pupul is ready for chaos, Patri Ġilormu knows everything that happens, and Patri Gwardjan tries to keep order with patience and wisdom.

Will Fredu really manage to become a friar?
