DANCE FESTIVAL MALTA 2026 PRES. DAY 1 & 2

On Thursday 23 July 2026 at 19:10 and Friday 24 July 2026 at 19:15, Dance Festival Malta takes over Valletta Campus Theatre for two evenings of curated contemporary dance performances as part of its 2026 programme. Now in its fifth edition, the festival continues to develop Malta’s dance landscape by bringing together artists from across Europe and beyond. Each night presents a structured programme of performances, combining different styles, disciplines and cultural influences into a cohesive theatre experience. Day 1 features works by Aurora Bauzà and Pere Jou, Renzo Spiteri and Nicole Chetcuti, Lai Chung-Hung, and Vasiliki Papapostolou, alongside a live conversation session led by Dr Paula Guzzanti. The programme moves between short and extended pieces, blending narrative, abstraction and physical storytelling. Day 2 builds on this with performances by Oulouy, Moveo Dance Company, Louis Thuriot and Patricia George, Qabalum, and Douglas Comley with Nick Phillips, alongside the return of Vasiliki Papapostolou and a closing artist conversation with Dr Paula Guzzanti. The second night leans into a more dynamic and layered programme, with shifts in tempo, tone and visual intensity throughout.
